Courts are modern artificial grass, coaching is on hand, and we secure your sessions in advance so the games are guaranteed even in a busy summer week. It's a compact but strong local scene — more than enough to base a lively trip around, without the intensity of the mainland hubs.

Magaluf is made for stags, birthdays and group trips that want beach, nightlife and daily padel rolled together on an easy island. It suits sociable, mixed-ability groups happy to play in the morning and go out at night, and it's a livelier, better-value counterpart to a quieter Palma or Alcúdia stay. Couples after calm island downtime will prefer the rest of Mallorca, but for a high-energy beach-and-padel weekend Magaluf is the pick.

Best time to play

The Balearic season runs warm from spring to autumn. Spring and early summer are lovely for play and the beaches; midsummer is hot and at its liveliest, ideal for a sociable group trip with early or evening games; and autumn stays pleasant into October. Winters are cooler and much quieter, with the resort's nightlife wound down, so the sweet spot is April to October.

Getting there

Palma de Mallorca airport is around 25 minutes from Magaluf, and is one of Europe's best-connected airports with year-round UK flights. Transfers and taxis are quick and cheap, and the courts are a few minutes from the beachfront hotels, so you won't need a car.

A sample Magaluf padel trip

1. Day 1 — Fly into Palma and transfer to Magaluf; sunset drinks on the Calvià Beach front.
2. Day 2 — Morning games at Magaluf Sport Club, afternoon on the beach or a boat trip.
3. Day 3 — A doubles tournament, then dinner and a night out along the strip.
4. Day 4 — Final games and the short transfer back to Palma.

Nearby areas

The south-west coast has plenty beyond the strip. The pretty marina and coves around Portals Nous and Palmanova are next door, the beaches of Santa Ponsa a little further, and Palma — with its cathedral, old town and marina — is 20 minutes away for a change of pace. The Tramuntana mountains and villages like Valldemossa make an easy day trip.
